Sakaiminato Station

Sakaiminato Station

I came to Sakaiminato Station this morning.

I went to Yonago Station from Matsue Station and changed to Sakaiminato Station.

For those who only know Tokyo, it’s a fairly local train.

All of Sakaiminato’s trains are decorated with Shigeru Mizuki’s characters.

There are bronze statues of Mizuki’s characters all over the small shopping street.

It’s hard to see them all.

Sushi Hito tose

Sushi Hito tose

This is a sushi restaurant right next to Sakaiminato Station.

It’s called Hitotose.

I stopped in because I couldn’t find anywhere else to eat.

It’s a conveyor belt sushi restaurant.

You can get cheap sushi.

They say they mainly serve sushi made with fish caught in the Sea of Japan.

The menu is just text, but don’t worry.

You actually order using an electronic tablet.

You can see what kind of sushi you want and choose it.

The crabs from this region are famous, though I think they are frozen.

Freezing is safer as it kills parasites and bacteria.

Moved to Mt. Daisen

Japanese trains and buses are punctual, even in rural areas, which is a great thing.

From Sakaiminato station, I returned to Yonago Station and then took a bus to Mt. Daisen.

Look at the sky.

It’s a perfect day for mountain climbing.

The slope gets steeper and steeper

The slope gets steeper and steeper

Although climbing a mountain this time, my goal is not to reach the summit, but to reach the inner sanctuary of Ogamiyama Shrine.

The climb goes through the forest so it’s quite cool.

It takes about 30 minutes to walk through the forest.

It feels cool even in midsummer because it is in the shade.

Please be careful of animals such as bears as you walk.

Recharge your energy at a delicious yakiniku restaurant in Kurayoshi

Seisyun Cola

Seisyun Cola

From Ogami Shrine, I took a bus to Daisenguchi Station and then a train to Kurayoshi Station.

This restaurant is located at the north exit of Kurayoshi Station.

It is a yakiniku restaurant called Gyuou.

Almost raw meat

Almost raw meat

Look at this delicious meat.

It’s almost raw.

It’s just seared on the surface to sterilize it.

The deliciousness will permeate your tired body.

Yam Kimchi

This kimchi is made from yams, a local specialty of the region.

Yakiniku booth

The yakiniku booth feels like a private space.

There are two types of sauce, both quite salty.

It’s a seasoning for people who drink alcohol.

Wasabi, garlic, salt, etc. are also available.

Specially selected Manyo beef ribs

This is a restaurant where you can enjoy “Manyo Beef”, the finest beef produced in the Tottori region.

Specially selected kalbi and other dishes simply melt on your tongue.

It’s an artistic taste.

What is Manyo Beef?

What is Manyo Beef?

The journey continues.

I will stay in Kurayoshi tonight.

I put some painkillers on my legs before going to bed to avoid muscle pain.
