I visited “Atsuta Jingu Shrine“.
Atsuta Jingu Shrine is said to be the home of a Japanese national treasure called “the Kusanagi no Tsurugi”, or “Ama no Murakumo no Tsurugi”, Sword of the Clouds of Heaven.
Legend says “Yamato Takeru no Mikoto“, an ancient prince, went on a military expedition, he bestowed the sword on the princess of this area.
Huge torii gate.
It was cloudy.
Every Shrine has huge tree.
Maybe planted at the beginning.
After thousand years it become a huge tree with dignity.
Japanese believe that old tree has long experience and holiness.
Several trees become a wood.
Pond provides pure water.
The museum of sword designed as a relaxing space, many people can stay and relax.
The main building of Atsuta Jingu Shrine
After walking through a long path you can reach the main building.
It is prohibited to take a photo near the area, holly place.
You can greet to the spirit, bowing twice, clap your hands twice, and bow deeply.
That is a way of greeting god.
There were many foreigners coming to Shrine, they should know this is a religious place.
Stay calm and show the right way to pray.
People pray for many thing.
All are hope.
It is a beautiful scene “Ema”, wooden hope plate are placed regularly.
Glass breaks stoneYou can feel the time, more than thousand years.
Tiny plants could break a huge rock.
Famous eel restaurant “Atsuta Houraiken“
I really wanted to visit this restaurant.
It called “Atsuta Houraiken“, famous eel restaurant.
It is quite near Atsuta Jingu Shrine.
Dinner time starts at 16:30.
They do not accept reservation except a course dishes.
Just stay in line and tell the name and the number of the people and wait until assigned time.
Maybe after 1 hour I was able to have a seat.
Normally you will go up to the second floor.
Please be careful.
The stairs are very steep.
This is simmered eel liver. It is simmered in a rich sauce, so it goes well with alcohol.
Sprinkling some sansho pepper on top will add a nice fragrance and make the eel even more delicious.
I guess it is difficult to eat for foreigner.
“Hitsumabushi” dish’s name, provide 3 way to eat.
First you can eat as it is.
Just put the eel and rice in the bowl.
Second you can add some Spring onion and sea weeds and wasabi on it.
It changes the flavor.
Ummm it is so delicious!!! Taste of Art.
Third you can pour “Dashi soup” to eat it easily.
Hutsumabushi is famous for special dish in Nagoya area.
When you visit Nagoya I strongly recommend you to eat here.
It will cost you 5000 yen but you will be satisfied.
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
