The “Sea-cruz” Where Wishes Come True
Here a place where you can see the sea like a cross.
If you are a bird, you can agree with that.
The Kanji “kanau”=叶, means the wish comes true, is far from Christian.
Free parking next to the Observatory.
The sea has worn the columnar rocks into the shape of a cross.
It is said that praying here will make your wishes come true.
It takes 20 min drive to Oomi Shrine.
Oomi Shrine
Omi Shrine is an old shrine dedicated to Amaterasu Omikami, known as “Ise-sama of Hyuga,” .
The shrine stands behind a columnar rock overlooking the ocean, a rare sight in Japan.
The group of “ripple stones” discovered during the expansion of the temple grounds in the fall of 2003 is believed to be the largest in Japan.
The water depression in front of the altar is clearly artificial, with spiral lines carved into the round, mortar-shaped wall .
An egg-shaped pebble (Dragon Ball) set at the bottom.
This is an ancient ruin from 5000 years ago.
The spiral wall represents a “dragon” and the egg-shaped pebble represents “dragon eggs”, supporting the belief in the dragon god at that time.
Now we moved from Hyuga to Beppu, 2 hours Highway drive.
Fine Japanese Restaurant “Heike” in Beppu City
We were hungry enough to eat special Japanese food.
I chose “Heike”, fine Japanese restaurant in Beppu, for lunch.
I really want to eat in here.
Sekiaji is a type of horse mackerel caught in the Hoyo Strait (Hayasui Strait) .
Landed at Saganoseki in Oita City, Oita Prefecture.
Along with Sekisaba, it is known as a high-end brand of seafood.
It is always fresh here and reasonable price.
Fresh octopus caught in Oita, you can eat raw in Sashimi.
I chose fried octopus.
It is nice taste chewy and great flavor.
Stayed in Kamenoi Hotel
It’s still light outside.
I’ll sleep a bit and then go for dinner.
Revelation 3:15-16
“‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.
