My wife suddenly said go to “Odawara Castle” to see Sakura flower and eat seasonal fresh fish.
Of cause no reason to refuse.
Go and see around the castles in Japan is a good recreation.
Now many of them turned into public park.
They may charge you some fee to get in the castle. For Odawara Castle the fee is 510 yen per adult person.

Odawara Castle is owned by “The Hojo Clan“.
During the Kamakura period in Japan, the Hojo clan was the most powerful samurai family in the country.
As time passed, when Toyotomi Hideyoshi unified Japan, the Hojo clan became the biggest enemy in the Kanto region.
The historical fact is that Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s army surrounded them from land and sea and captured them.
This castle is a witness to history.

Spring is the best time to visit Shizuoka Prefecture, including Odawara.
