I was invited to Kochi.

South west part of Japan.

It takes 90 min flight from Tokyo haneda to Kochi Ryoma airport(domestic flight).

Ride on the airport shuttle bus to reach the center of Kochi city.

Everybody wants me to visit Katsurahama beach.

Katsurahama is one of the most scenic spots in all of Kochi Prefecture.

Known since ancient times as a popular place to view the moon, the scenery has even been described in the lyrics of a famous Kochi folk song, yosakoi bushi.

I spent maybe two hours but I never get bored.

Just looking at the ocean and hear the wisdom of the winds, I felt the season.

You should reach there.

My business person brought me there by car but you can take the special “My遊Bus“for US10$.

Walking to Kochi castle

famous but tiny harimaya bridge

This is the center of Kochi city.

It called “Harimayabashi”, Harimaya bridge.

Wealthy businessman Harimaya made the bridge for his convenience.

But now we can see a tiny red wooden bridge is there.

Kochi castle

It takes about 20 min walk to the castle.

Constructed at the beginning of the 17th century, Kochi’s castle is the only one in Japan where the original castle tower and main keep remain intact.

After centuries of surviving wars, fires, and other catastrophes, it is one of the last twelve original castles in Japan, and is designated an Important National Cultural Property.
