I stay in the center of Takamatsu City so I have to take an hour’s ride with Kotohira Dentetsu so-called Kotoden.

It was a quite fine day. So far blue sky.

Dog traveled by himself as a representative of his master

In Edo period, the 17th century, ordinary people had a dream to trip to Kompira-san.

It was a big event in their life.

Of cause it cost a lot at that time, so many people gave up the travel.

Poor people let their pet, the dog to travel with other richer people who went to Kompira-san.

And on the way to Kompira-san, many ordinary people helped the dog for food and money.

You see the stature of dog now.

It called Kompira-inu and shows the episode of the trip from Edo(Tokyo) to Kompira-san.

In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.
