Tomioka Hachimangu shrine
“Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine” is the largest one in Tokyo, place at Monzen naka cho, downtown part of Tokyo city.
It is about 50 mins to reach there from my studio.
Tokyo had a long long Typhoon and bad weather. It was a good chance to go out for fine dinner.
I am interested in Shinto Art also as Western, Japanese so I long to see “Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine”.
It is an Etiquette to make ablution before meeting God.
Water for ablution
You can wash your hands and mouse with the water to purify your body.
If you are a traveller do not care about your religion, just an Etiquette.
It is the same to meet your lover.

Golden birds breathe out pure water. Please do not to drink the water.

“Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine”
Please look at the shape of roofs.
Watch carefully at the color of red.
I thought as a professional painter, it is difficult to make such a red.
Lighting is so effective at the night.
Omikuji, the fortune strip
I did not know “Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine” is the largest one in Tokyo.
It could be true to see the numbers of fortune strips, Omikuji.
Many people support this shrine.
Find a good traditional food “Fukagawa don”

The place “Tomioka Hachimangu Shrine” is called “Fukagawa”.
It was famous “Fukagawa don” , traditional cocked clams rice.

As you see two types of “Fukagawa don” .
Left one is clams cock with rice together.
Right one is clams cock separately as miso soup and pour on rice.
I prefer miso soup one.
Fall is not a season for clams but it was so nice.
It is good to know the traditional foods, mainly Edo era, and taste them.
Why don’t you try baked clams.
