God of harvest will come to Omikoshi and grace the people.
That is the time for Harvest Festival.
I walked down near my studio. By chance I saw the event.
As you know Japan was a country of Rice from ancient time.
Celebration of harvesting is held in Autumn.
Every village had a such event as European did.
“Akimatsuri”, Autumn Festival.
People come together and carrying “Omikoshi”, the house of God who is responsible for harvesting, and walk around the village.
Share the grace of harvest.
Japan has a lot of God to believe, over 800, means a lot. Thanks to every things
and every things has their own divinity.
This is quite different from European one divinity.
I surprised to see old women joined to carry.
May be younger man, me, is not able to do the same.
In the huge city like Tokyo does not forget such a event will come up to traditional.
There is a good community.
This omikoshi is for children.
Small one.
Police men come to the event to save the traffic.
Nothing is superior to this moment.
From the child to elder people they cheer up each other.
They shout “Wa shoi, Wa shoi”.
I do not know the meanings of that.
It is interest to know ancient Jewish had a same event.
Omikoshi could be the Ark of Covenant ?
No way.
Halloween is the fashion to Japanese.
I flet strange to see “Choshin” lanthanum of Shintoism is displayed with the Halloweens.
That is all, Autumn time.
