I have a strong interest in ancient Japan.
That’s why I concern with Kyu shu Island, main south part of Japan and ancient Japan had born here.
Now, many people are living in Tokyo, main island of Japan.
It took about 90 min by plane, Haneda to Kita kyushu.
I stayed in the city ‘Kokura‘, one of the major city in this area, the north part of kyu shu island.
You may take airport shuttle, big bus, to go to Kokura city. It is about 40 min, and costs you Yen710.
I left my luggage to my hotel in Kokura, then take a train.
Visited “Tai tou seki”, huge rocks that ancient emperor prayed on it
I arrived at “Kusami” station.
It is about 30 min from Kokura.
I thought this is a calm residential area.
Watching google map, I started to walk.
Google map told me that it will be 10 min to reach “Tai tou seki”
Just walk in a narrow path.
Sometimes I met a car.
Suddenly it appeared.
This is the “Tai tou seki”, Emperor stepping stone.
It is the history of Japan around the 4th century.
When the imperial family was not able to completely unify Japan.
At that time, Emperor Keiko marched to defeat the rebelling tribes.
It is said that he prayed for his victory on this emperor stepping stone, Tai tou seki.
Huge stones.
I walked around the stones.
I thought the space was a pond.
It is odd to leave a space like this.
I found some cats are living here in the night.
This is a kind of real roman of the ancient Japanese history.
I moved back to Kokura.
Next I wanted to visit “Sarakura mountain” to see the whole Kokura city and the sunset.
You can take a bus to go to “Srakurayama cable“.
Climbed up to “Sarakura Mountain” by cable car, quiet easy
I recommend you to visit there late afternoon to the sunset and early night.
It cost about US$12 for round trip.
You can see your Google map and compare the real scene.
Empress Jingu, a famous empress of ancient Japan.
She gave this mountain her name.
She saw distant Japanese islands and Japan itself from the top of this mountain.
You can take a free shuttle bus to go to “Yahata”station, the nearest station.
Then I moved to Kokura.
The scene from the top of the mountain “Sarakura” was very beautiful.
That is artwork of GOD.
Supper in Kokura, Yakitori
I visited a Yakitori houce “Tori matsu“.
Yakitori means roasted chicken but now many people know what is like.
This is grilled chicken neck meat.
Juicy and chewy, delicious taste.
I moved a lot today.
Thanks to GOD and eat a little more.
