Soeda station
Today I took a local train early in the morning.
Kokura station to Soeda station.
It took about 80 min to reach there. Cost you Yen 950.

Soeda station
Compare with Tokyo’s train fee, I felt it was expensive but there are few people and they usually not taking a train so it is going to be higher than Tokyo.
Now I have to move to “Hikosan Jingu“, holy mountain as a Shrine.
You can walk from Soeda station to north, you will find a wide bus station.

Soeda little bus
Soeda town drives a little bus locally.
You can ride on this and go to “Hikosan Jingu“.

Soeda little bus
It is cash only. Japanese Yen only.
It costs you Yen 300.
It is about 30 min mountain ride. NO fear.
Arrive at the entrance of Hikosan Jingu

“Kane no torii”
This object is very good for Mark of Hikosan Shrine.

Hikosan shrine palace map
Here we have a map of Hikosan Jingu.
I started from the point 1 and walk a long stairs to reach the point 4.
It is a painful journey of 40 minutes on ordinary people’s feet.
Kane no torii in Hikosan shrine palace
This torii gate is made of copper.
It is built in 17th century so not so old.

Kane no torii in Hikosan shrine palace, back side
Watch out the back side of Torii gate.
The circle shows us theSun.
In Kanji, 日子, pronounce as “Hiko” means people of the sun.
Ancient Japanese admire the Sun same as ancient civilization.
I think someone hide the meanings.

long stairs
Long way.
A lot of stairs.
Usually I do not exercise a lot.
It was very tough.

halfway point of a long stairs

Take some rest.

It will be more 20 min to reach precincts.

long stairs continues
It was nice to walk in early spring, end of winter.
The air is chilly so I did not care about the sweat at all.
These are the last stairs.
Almost there.
After climbing the stairs for 40 minutes, there is a shrine

precincts

Map of precincts
I believed Hikosan jingu is a tough shrine.
It is very hard to reach to the shrine.

The Hōhei-den, a large lecture hall
Looks so beautiful.

offertory box
The logo is designed with two hawk feathers.
And combined with Kanji “Two”
For english speakers it looks like “H”.

The Hōhei-den, a large lecture hall,Bell
Huge bell.
Tell the GOD that you came here.

people’s wishes
Many people wish and write down their wishes.
Please look.
Those three cute falcons.
Now I can get down to the halfway to get the bus.

Going down to Bus stop,”Jingu shita”

Almost 1 hour trip but it was really hard.
Please prepare full.
Isaiah
For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
