
Get on an Airplane to Izumo
I am interested in ancient Japanese history and Art.
Izumo is the place where old Japan had started.
It is 90 minutes flight from Tokyo Haneda to Izumo Airport.
Boarding ramp car is rare now.
Handicapped people can not get on.
I have no idea to carry on the wheelchair person without an elevator.
Even in a rainy season, I got a miracle beautiful day.
It was a pleasant flight to Izumo.
You can stay in Izumo City or Matsue City.
You may take a shuttle bus, cost you about US$10, to reach the major rail station in Matsue City.
Chilly wind from the Lake Shinji was so delightful.

Lake Shinji
After 40 min drive, you will reach to the center of Matsue City.
It has a huge Lake Shinji.
I have an image like Chicago.
Lake Shinji has pure water and seawater mixed.
I heard it is salty.
In result, Lake Shinji has good seafood.
The black clum called “Shijimi“, the Black Diamond is the famous one.

Huge Red Umbrella
I started to walk around Matsue City.
It is a clean and neat city.
Many rivers and canal.
I aim to reach the center of the city.
It is “Matsue Castle”

“Matsue Castle” is a National treasure of Japan.

“Matsue Castle” was built in 1611.
Yoshiharu Horie, the Load in that area, ordered to build.
You can walk to the top of the castle by long steps.

You can see an old woman can walk.
It was a little hard for me to walk.
After 10 min walks, you will reach the main building of the castle.
This is the National treasure.

You can get into the main building.
It cost you about US$7.
You have to take off your shoes in a bag and carry.
Inside the main building is chilly.
And all the stairs are quite steep.
Old person and little child cannot climb.

I was surprised to know the building is made of wood.
It is not a comfortable space on each floor.
The castle is not a residence but combat equipment.

After the hard climb, you will see the peaceful scene of the city.

All the function of the building were designed to be Artistic.
The shape and color were selected to fight.

Restaurant “KawaKyo” at Matsue City
“KawaKyo” is the best restaurant to try local food in Matsue city.
Actually, it is a small bar run by daughter and mother.
It is a 10 min walk from Matsue Castle.
I chose the full course.
It cost you the US $50, without a drink.

The red color and spicy taste are good to drink.

Boiled seafood
Special shrimp, called “Bosa shrimp” only caught near this area.

This dish is really original here in this restaurant.
Taste good and it has a complicated flavor.
If you tried “Kabayaki”, you will like it.

Originally they put the sea bass directly into the fire.
They knew it is better to cook the sea bass wrapped with paper to dedicated to the Load.
