Kokura station
I moved from Fukuyama to Kokura.
It was about 90 min ride on Shinkansen Express.
I saw a lot of beautiful scene but no chance to take picture because it was so fast!
It was hot day even it is almost November.
Kokura station hometown of Reiji Matsumoto
I really do not know that famous Manga writer, ‘Reiji Matsumoto’ raised in Kokura area.
There was a statue of conductor, who act on ’THE GALAXY EXPRESS 999’.
It is a tail of railway in the galaxy. You can check on the web.
I want to see the ancient Japan scene
Ancient Japan
You can go to the ancient Japan, historically.
Of cause there are many doctrines where the emperor started from.
But some of the major doctrines say it started from some part of ‘Kyushu island’, the west part of Japan.
Kokura was an important part of ancient Japan.
Now you can take a modern railway, from Kokura to Ippon Matsu, 50 min trip.
You should pay in cash only, i mean not to use IC card but buy a ticket.
It takes 30 min walk from Ippon Matsu station to see the scene.

Ancient Japan real scene
Ancient Japanese, even now, likes to write a song.
Many theme of the song were about the nature, life, love, poverty, prosperity etc.
’Manyoshu’, collection of ten-thousand songs, is one of the famous songbook.
I saw Mr. Shinzo Fukunaga’s Youtube and really want to see the real ancient Japan.
You can see three peaks lined up. From right you can count as first peak, second, third.
Ancient emperor ‘Jitou’ wrote a song of these three lined up peaks.
It called ‘Kawara peaks’ but maybe the real name was ‘Amano Kaguyama’.
Now the mountain has a lot of trees so it looks green but her skin is pure white.
Because it is made of limestone, white rock.
Emperor Jitou did imagine that GOD is drying his pure white clothes on the three peaks.
That is why the peaks looks pure white. Good song.
I think it is worth to see the real scene, and imagine artistic.
Now the first peak has broken to take limestone as cement and gold and copper.

Night is coming in Kokura.
I walked near the river.

Unfortunately, it was too late to come back to Kokura, I could not see Kokura castle as it is.
Maybe it is a good time to eat dinner.

After COVID-19 people are getting active but watch, even now people are wearing face mask!
I tried for grilled eel, japanese style.
Maybe famous ‘KawaYodo’ i just search on google.

So far nice.
But it is different from what i eat in Tokyo.
I recommend you to eat in east side of Japan.
Cooking process is different between west and east.
East, include Tokyo, will steam eel to make it soft and tender.
Then grilled ,braised.
So it will be soft and tender, oily and smoked good taste.
