My friend invited me to go to Itoshima, Fukuoka.
I was interested in Itoshima, for the history of ancient Japan.
We started our little trip from Fukuoka airport.
On the way to Itoshima, you can visit “Aburayama Park” to see the Fukuoka City.
It might be better to visit here in the night but for foreigner better in daily.
It is a little cloudy but not so cold.
The spring is coming near.
The trees’ leaves will turn into green in a few month.
Famous “Dai chi no Udon“, beautiful Udon noodle restaurant
On the way to Itoshima, we got an early lunch.
It was AM 11 but there were already many people.
It was lucky there was no one in line, we got in smoothly.
First you have to buy a meal ticket from a vending machine,
After you buy a meal ticket, clerk will assign you where you sit down, depend on the people number.
Many locals were eating.
I really did not know this restaurant is famous for large serving.
These spices are for changing the taste of Udon noodle.
Flavor of Yuzu and green pepper.
It tastes so good.
I choose Udon noodle with beef and fried Burdock.
Look at the Udon noodle.
It is translucent and silky, chewy noodle.
I never tried udon noodle like this. It is worth to do.
Good hotel in Itoshima, “GLOCAL HOTEL“
Tonight we will stay at this hotel.
It sounds odd.
They want to express GLOBAL and LOCAL at the same time.
It was new hotel, clean and calm, artistic.
We deposited our luggages to hotel and continued the little trip.
Nonami Shrine Shitanomiya, good for ancient fans
People do not know ancient shrine is here, Saga prefecture.
It is said that the parents of Empress Jingu are enshrined at this shrine.
The torii is made of stone and wrapped with a thick rope.
What a powerful form. It is art.
Once a year, a portable shrine is carried from here to the upper shrine.
Nonami Shrine good for ancient fans
It is said to be the birthplace of Empress Jingu, and is enshrined here.
If you understand Japanese, you can understand the history of this shrine.
When I climbed this hill, I realized that the hill itself is an ancient burial mound.
Look at this powerful torii design.
Komainu are also powerful and protect this sacred place from foreign enemies.
I took a peek inside the building, but there was nothing in particular.
I could see many paintings on the ceiling, but I didn’t know the details.
Moved to Sakurai Shrine
The area is still quiet now, even though it’s high season in the summer and there are a lot of people.
I was able to take a leisurely look at the famous Meotoishi,Married Couple Rocks.
It was so windy.
Enjoyed seafood in Itoshima
If you visit Itoshima, Fukuoka Prefecture, you should go to find seafood.
I visited “Fukumaru“, a restaurant run by a fisherman.
Fresh and fresh seafood.
Some of the squid sashimi will be served as tempura.
If you’re Japanese, you’ll definitely end up with grilled rice balls.
Of course, I would recommend it to anyone.
Jeremiah 3:17
At that time Jerusalem shall be called the throne of the Lord, and all nations shall gather to it, to the presence of the Lord in Jerusalem, and they shall no more stubbornly follow their own evil heart.
